Because there’s literally a distance between us and you as a customer, good and efficient communication is indispensable. Feedback from visitors and customers helps us make the experience better and better; it’s in our name for a reason.

Although email was the standard for online contact for years, all kinds of channels have since been added: chat, phone, video calling. That sounds handy, but in practice it often leads to what we call “fast-food contact”: quickly blurting something out, ping-ponging back and forth and only arriving at the real question or need after lots of detours.

At TopLaptop we prefer to do it differently. We want to help you properly in one go. That’s why we ask you, via our contact form, to think for a moment about what exactly you need. With the selection options in the form, you immediately ensure your message ends up in the right place. That saves you time and gives us the chance to come straight back with the right answer or the right solution.

That’s why we deliberately choose contact via forms on our own, secure servers. That’s not only more efficient, but also safer and more sustainable.

Prefer personal contact? Of course you can also just call us. But via the form you often get a suitable answer faster, because we have all the information straight away.


Faster and easier for you as a customer

For you as a customer, a contact form is often faster and easier than a separate email. A lot of information, such as your order number, name or subject, is already pre-filled or easy to select. That way you have to type less, forget nothing, and your message goes straight to the right department. No hassle with subject lines or attachments: you fill in the form, click send, and we have everything we need to help you quickly.


Emails burden the internet more than forms

You might not think of it straight away, but every email costs energy. The bigger the email or the more attachments, the more data has to be stored and sent via data centres and servers. Data centres consume enormous amounts of power and contribute to CO₂ emissions.

A contact form, on the other hand, sends only the strictly necessary information directly to our systems. That saves a lot of data and therefore energy. For us that fits our vision: making laptops last longer and limiting our ecological footprint.


Forms are safer than emails

Another important advantage is security. When sending emails, the information often travels via multiple servers and networks. Along the way it can be stored unprotected or intercepted.

Forms work differently: all data is encrypted via a secure HTTPS connection and arrives directly on our own servers in the Netherlands. This means your data is better protected against cybercriminals or data breaches.


Easier for us (and so better for you)

For us, forms are also more practical. Every form arrives in our system in a structured way and is automatically linked to customer data or previous purchases. That way we can see straight away what your question is about and respond quickly.

A separate email, on the other hand, we often have to search through manually first and enter into the right systems. That takes time and increases the chance of errors. Thanks to forms we can work faster and more consistently – and you benefit from that.


Fewer emails from us to you and no paper

We think it’s important not to overload email, but to use it in a targeted and useful way. That’s why we send as few messages as possible, and always with a clear purpose:

  1. Order confirmation – right after payment you get a single confirmation that contains everything. Some webshops send two (payment + order separately), but we think that’s unnecessary.
  2. Shipping confirmation – as soon as your laptop or accessory is on its way, you get an email with your track & trace code. The invoice is included right away; that doubles as your packing slip. We don’t print a paper packing slip, to avoid waste.
  3. Service and review email – three weeks after buying a laptop, we send you a short check-in: is everything working as it should? In that same email we also ask you for a review. We do this entirely ourselves, so your data doesn’t first go to an external review party. That avoids extra email and gives you more privacy.

That way we keep our communication clear, transparent and respectful.
