Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer when you visit it. In brief

We use Complianz as our cookie and consent manager. This system runs a thorough scan to manage your cookie preferences. Cookies are divided into three categories:

  • Statistics: We don’t use cookies for visitor statistics. These are measured without cookies via Matomo, meaning no personal data is stored.
  • Functional: Some cookies are necessary for the website to work properly, such as for the shopping basket and logging in. These don’t require your consent.
  • Marketing: We use marketing cookies from Google Ads and Microsoft Ads to understand how our adverts are performing. We ask for your explicit consent for these, because Microsoft and Google have these cookies placed across multiple websites. This gives them an enormous amount of data about you across a huge range of sites. They use this data to build advertising profiles and sell them on — including to parties whose adverts you’d probably rather not see.

What we collect

With every visit to our site, we store a small amount of data:

  • Which pages you view, and for how long
  • Which browser and device you’re using (phone or computer)
  • Your language and roughly where you are — based on your IP address, never your exact location. Your IP address is not stored anywhere and is only used to determine your general location.

We do this to understand how our site is being used, and to determine whether a visit comes from a real person or a bot.

Is your data shared?

No. We keep our anonymous statistics ourselves, via Matomo. Only if you give consent for marketing cookies do we share data with our advertising partners Google and Bing. If you don’t give that consent, the data stays with us alone — we don’t use it for advertising, only for user site improvement.

All visitor data is anonymous, unless you make a purchase. In that case, we share your data with parties involved in fulfilling the order, such as PostNL for delivery, Mollie for payment, and Moneybird for invoicing.
